KAUTASIT as trademark is almost 50 years old. In Dresden, international conferences on seal and gasket engineering were held under the management of KAUTASIT.
The KAUTASIT - Gummitechnik GmbH feels obliged to keep the tradition, and thus, it is well oriented to future. Also today, the main products from the KAUTASIT Gummitechnik GmbH are seals on the basis of any types of elastomers and high-pressure gasket sheets. A considerable numer of gaskets and formed parts were developed according to special requirements of our customers.

1880-1890
Several companies of seal technology are being founded in
Dresden.
1912
Placed on our head quarter today, a very successful seal company starts with
its production.
1946-1948
The seal producers in Dresden are being expropriated.
1952
Out of 3 former private companies, the VEB KAUTASIT-WERKE DRESDEN fusions.
1970
Fusion of KAUTASIT with COSID Coswig to VEB COSID-KAUTASIT-WERKE Coswig.
1990
KAUTASIT is becoming independent now: The KAUTASIT-Dichtungstechnik GmbH is founded.
1992
KAUTASIT is a private company again. Of formerly almost as much
as 1000 employees, 110 are taken on.
1993
In August the elastomer production of KAUTASIT-Dichtungstechnik GmbH is being outsourced and the
KAUTASIT-Gummitechnik GmbH is founded. Foundation participator: Mr. Jahn, Mr. Held, Mr. Steindecker
1995
The KAUTASIT-Dichtungstechnik GmbH goes bankrupt. The core business, the production of gasket sheets
is taken over by the KAUTASIT-Gummitechnik GmbH.
1996
Real estate, machines and equipment for sheet production are bought. Therewith,
KAUTASIT is almost complete again.
